SLICE OF LIFE OF THE DAY!
Good morning, good evening, and good night. This morning started like any other. I woke up, fell back asleep, woke up again, showered, changed clothes, packed my bag, and got ready for school. But today felt special—it’s the end of the month and my bike finally got fixed. LET’S GOOO! After so long without it, riding my bike again felt amazing. This bike is one of the most important things to me. Before it broke, I’d often use it for afternoon exercise and then stop by the library. Cycling like that kept my mind healthy. There’s something refreshing about moving through the world on two wheels, watching life go by. It’s even better when I ride with friends. The only downside? Motorbike fumes. Seriously, the smoke on the way to school is awful.
School itself was pretty normal but full of little moments. In Indonesian class, things went as usual. In Civics, our teacher asked for our shirt sizes for the live-in program. That’s when I noticed Hek and Daff (its their name btw) hadn’t been in class. When the teacher texted them in the group chat, they rushed in and immediately got scolded. The whole class went silent. Out of nowhere, someone accidentally played a Snapchat video with chipmunk voices and everyone burst out laughing, only for the tension to snap right back between the teacher, Hek, and Daff. Watching it unfold made me nervous, but also thoughtful—the teacher’s words stuck with me. Everything has its time and place, even joking. Like when another teacher, Bu Layli (Math), came to give an announcement. Aqsa suddenly shouted "SEMUANYA DIAM" well its a meme indonesian simillar to the “I'VE PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE” like that Squid Game meme and of course got scolded too. The class went silent again, past the first break bell. Only the teacher’s lecture and the replies from Aqsa and Daffa filled the air. It was a strong reminder that joking has its own time and place.
There’s also talk about our Math teacher being replaced. Before teaching us, the new teacher was tested over Zoom, but honestly, it felt uncomfortable and confusing. We were learning infinite series and I didn’t get a thing. Pramuka (Scouting) was boring as usual—this time we learned Morse code. Qur’an class felt normal but with a nice surprise. There’s a classmate—let’s just call them fdln. Since the start of school, I thought they were uncomfortable around me or just shy. I even wondered if I had done something wrong. But today we finally talked, even just small talk, and it felt like a small step closer. btw we were talking about a netflix series called "Alice in Borderlands". What'd u think about that series? leave a comment!
By 3 PM school was over and I rode my bike home through heavy traffic. The smoke from cars and motorbikes was even worse than in the morning. When I reached home, I knocked on the door but no one answered. I knocked three times, then harder. Suddenly my mom got angry, telling me to be patient. Apparently she had told me to wait earlier but her voice didn’t reach outside, so it somehow became my fault. When I went upstairs, I found my TV was gone. I panicked, thinking it was broken because of my little sister (she has Down syndrome and autism), and even if she had broken it, it wouldn’t be her fault. But he said it was just moved downstairs. I was annoyed. I wanted to ask my mom, but she was praying, so I had to wait, pacing back and forth. When she finished, she explained they’d moved it because my dad felt bad for my mom who used the treadmill while watching a tiny tablet screen. Like what? That’s it? No one even told me. Annoyed, I bargained for the big speaker from downstairs to be moved into my room instead. She agreed. Now the sound is better and bassier, even though I still prefer the TV.
UNKNOWN BANDWIDTH
And then there’s the real highlight of my day: a mystery I stumbled upon online. Recently, I’ve developed a small hobby of checking out internet mysteries I find on Reddit. They’re creepy but thrilling, and give me a rush of curiosity. Yesterday, I found a post about a strange YouTube channel called “Unknown Bandwidth.” Out of curiosity, I clicked—and wow, things got weird.
Source:
an oddly creepy youtube channel that uploads random pixelated videos with loud audios
byu/Trollblivion inInternetMysteries
Every video on the channel (literally thousands, over 2,700 uploads since 2021) looks almost the same: loud, distorted TV static; random frequency-like buzzing sounds like an old radio; and a creepy text-to-speech voice suddenly blurting out random letters and numbers. The titles are suspicious too: some are ridiculously long strings of characters, like “0FITSGMzkjw7mNat...” or “bgDpdr5Q6zXV3of1...” and then suddenly one that just says “SOS.” At first glance, they look like keyboard smashing, but the more I stared at them, the more they looked like encrypted text—maybe Base64, maybe AES, maybe something else entirely.
WARNING LOUD NOISES!
Creepy isnt it? I tried decoding the video title. First with a free UTF-8 converter—nothing. Then with Python scripts and plugins—still nothing. Either it’s a code that needs a specific key, or it’s just noise meant to trick people. There are a few possibilities. Maybe it’s an ARG (Alternate Reality Game). ARG creators love using creepy static, random codes, and cryptic titles to lure people into “mysteries.” Or maybe it’s a modern number station copycat. Back in the Cold War, shortwave radios broadcasted random numbers read by robotic voices as secret messages for spies. Some think this channel is a YouTube version of that. Or maybe it’s just a bot experiment—someone programmed a system to generate random data and upload it like an art project. And just maybe, it’s real encrypted communication, a hidden channel for sending secret data disguised as static.
Here’s the kicker. While I was writing this, I typed “SOS” in my journal. At that exact moment, the internet radio I was listening to on VLC randomly played “SOS” by Rihanna. Coincidence? Probably. But when you’re knee-deep in creepy YouTube mysteries, it feels like you’re being watched. That’s why this whole thing feels like stepping into a sci-fi story—half mystery, half paranoia. Even if it’s just an ARG or some bored programmer’s project, it’s pushing me to learn about cryptography, data encoding, and the strange hidden corners of the internet. And honestly? That’s way more fun than playing a normal video game.
So yeah, that’s my day. From riding my bike again to strange classroom drama to creepy YouTube rabbit holes. Good morning, good evening, and good night.
